Roaba de Cultura is a project developed by Green Revolution. The project was designed as a free leisure-time alternative, an oasis of relaxation and culture, for a good time every weekend. It is also an invitation to become more responsible towards the environment by spending time in the open air.
Offering a diverse programme, with creative workshops, concerts, various athletic activities, readings, film viewing, but also activities for children and families, Roaba de Cultura is the ideal place for a community with multiple cultural options.
Starting with 2011, Roaba de Cultura has managed to direct the inhabitants of Bucharest towards a leisure-time alternative. The green area in Herastrau has become a cultural hub for those passing by, the connoisseurs and general public.
In its six years of existence, over 600,000 people in Bucharest have chosen to spend their free time in a different way, enjoying a culture festival in nature, from spring to autumn, on the meadow of Roaba de Cultura.
stated Raluca Fiser, President of Green Revolution.
In the summer 2016, on Wednesdays, Roaba de Cultura hosted meetings with personalities of the Romanian culture, which resulted in exciting debates, on novel topics. The concept of “Cultural Wednesdays” shows the audience of Roaba de cultura a face of Romania that differs from the one we see every day. From “Tzara’s Country”, the re-enactment of a Dada meeting to the Costica Acsinte collection, the “eye” that immortalised the Romanian society on photographic plates starting with the First World War to the history of Romanian jazz, Wednesday nights at Roaba de Cultura have offered the chance for exploration of less accessed cultural spaces, in the company of exceptional “guides”.
Another novel concept put into practice this year at Roaba de Cultura was the “Live Music Saturday Night », which offered interesting experiences, with bands playing various types of music, from processed lullabies to jazz, blues and rock. We listened to 4Bete, Cobzality, When Violin Meets Chitar, Mihai Melinescu, Catalin Tzetze Radulescu, Dusty Ride, Maxim Belciug and many more.
Unica Summer Bike Fiesta, the largest bike party in Romania landed for the fourth year in a row on the meadow of Roaba de Cultura. Amazing gifts for all participants, concert, film viewing, many bikes and wonderful people filled the meadow in Herastrau and made 27 August a day to remember!
In 2016, Roaba de Cultura offered:

- Special events: 23;
- Open-air concerts (jazz, pop, classical music, folk etc) – 13;
